Trayvon Martin and Emmett till Essay
I think that both guys were killed for different reasons. Trayvon was probably killed because of something about gangs or something like that, thats what I think. Emmet,on the other hand, he was killed for talking "fresh" to a white lady. They are similar because they were killed by people that I think were racist. To be honest they didn't deserve this because they had a life to live.

Persepolis blog # 1
As we start to read " Persepolis " the story takes place in Iran, where it used to be called Persia. Women had to wear a veil because the isalmic revolution said it was obligatory to wear it. Marjane wants to be a prophet because she wants to stop the revolution. People in her school were laughing at her because they thought that she was crazy. Marjane then learns that her grandpa used to be the prince and that he was the one who started the revolution.
Marjane then learned that when her grandpa was in prison, they would fill up his cell with water which made his skin wrinkled. Marjane hated the revolution and so did her family. Her dad was taking pictures of the things that were happening to people due to the revolution. Marjane and her family were worried that something had happened to him but, he came back with no damage done.

Final Six Word Memoir
In basketball, I never give up.
When I want to do something that I like to do, I try not to give up because I want to do the best that I can do. Everytime I do something good or bad I tell myself that I can do better because you always want to do better than what you did. I chosed this memoir becuase its something that means alot in my life, my family always tells to not give up because nobody likes to fail. Sometimes when things seem hard, I try to do the best I can in order to make things easier for me. I always tell myself that if I want to succeed in life, I can't give up on my dreams.
Everytime I play basketball, I try to play the best I can because if I don't, I won't be as good as I want to be. Sometimes when I go to sleep I dream of making the game winning shot at the buzzer, most people that play basketball dream of one moment because they are not afraid of the big moments. Some people that are in the NBA right now came from poor neighborhoods or from the sreets. They didn't have any clothes or shoes to wear because they were poor but, they never gave up. Those people kept fighting knowing that if they want to be something in life, they could not give up. Being in the NBA is my dream, but, if I want to get there I know that I have to give it my all.

Six Word Memoir Day 3
When you fall,get back up.
I wrote this memoir because it is a part of me. Even though I fall, I never give up because If you do, It might cost you something that you wanted. If you don't give up, that tells people that you are a brave person and that nothing will stop you.
An image that that I can put is a picture of someone diving for the basketball. If not then I can put a picture of someone trying to block the shot.

Six Word Memior Day 2
If you want something, earn it .
I chosed this memior because most things in life are earned, not given. Most of the things I have today I had to earn them because most things in life are not given.
An image that I might put is a picture of someone that wants something really bad or I can put a picture of something that I wanted.

Six Word Memoir Day 1
In basketball, I never give up
I said this memoir because basketball is something that I like to play everyday and its a part of my life. I chosed this because its something that I love.
If I had an image to show what I meant, I would put up a picture of Kobe Bryant because he never gives up or I would put up avideo of Magic Johnson because he played in the NBA with HIV and that shows how he never gave up even though he had a disease.

Whale Rider Blog
My thoughts on the movie called " Whale Rider ", is that the movie shows types of rituals and chants that have a meaning. The tribe is from Hawai and in their tribe the leader can only be a man, but, in the movie that changes for the first time. The grandfather, whos name is Pucker, needs a new leader for the tribe. His grandson had died when he was born with his sister, the sister's name was Pai and her grandfather hated her because he didn't want her to be the leader of his tribe. Pucker thought that a girl shouldn't be the leader because in his mind, it would be bad for the tribe.
In my opinion, I think that Pucker was not being fair with Pai because he didn't want to give her a chance to prove that she can be a leader. Pucker didn't want her to be the leader because he thought that it would be an embarrasment to his ancestors. Pai felt sad because she thought that could be able to help his grandfather. Her grandmother was always there for her when she felt sad or lonely. In my opinion, it wasn't Pai's fault that she was a girl. The good thing about the movie was that Pucker gave Pai a chance to be the leader of his tribe because we should be given acvhance at something that we want to be.
