The Lakers, right now are in sixth place in the West standings, while the LA Clippers stand in third. Lately the Lakers haven't been consistent, when they play on the road most of the time they lose, their road record is six wins and twelve losses. When the Lakers play at home they rarely lose, their home record is fifteen wins and two losses. What I think the Lakers need is a true point guard, Derrick Fisher is getting old and Steve Blake hasn't been consistent since coming back from injury. Another thing that the Lakers need to fix is the bench scoring, the Lakers bench only averages twenty points a game and that is last in the NBA.
Last Sunday in the All Star Game, Kobe gets fouled hard by Heats' Dwayne Wade and blood starts to come out of Kobe's nose. After an MRI, Kobe is told that he has a nasal fracture and he then suffers a mild concussion. Tonight the Lakers play the Minnesota Timberwolves and we don't know if Kobe will play. Do I think that the Lakers are championship contenders ? To be honest I think they are but, they need to start playing consistent and they need a true point guard. The bench also has to contribute because lately they haven't been doing good. Hopefully the Lakers can play good and bring another championship to the city of Los Angeles.
